Galerie Fons Welters proudly invites you to the opening of Sven Kroner - In the Studio, on Saturday 24 June, 5-7pm. In the Studio shows a series of new paintings by Sven Kroner made in the last year. His characteristic landscapes have changed in recent years: through the open windows and colourful greenhouses, the painter has landed at the interior landscape in which the studio has become the subject. The landscape has entered the inner world: it grows from the floor and the walls of the studio onto the canvas. More explicitly - and not rarely with humour - he also illustrates the artificialness that is enclosed in his work. With these representations of the studio, Kroner reflects unequivocally on painting, emphasizing that each image is a construction, an invention by the artist.
During the opening a new 160 page monograph, Sven Kroner, published by Hatje Cantz, will be presented. The catalogue will be available for sale during the opening.
